Second appointment of the immersive visits to the places of the First World War.
Also starting from San Michele al Carso, the viewer will be accompanied along the path dedicated to Ungaretti, interweaving in some stops – in a single dramaturgic, significant and emotional entity – texts of the poet and narrative parts with the history and physical suggestion of places and spaces.
The narrative parts are fragments of diaries and memories of events of soldiers and civilians who lived through the period of the Great War all over the world, to restore the vastness of the conflict especially in the European territorial dimension.
These fragments, although referring to other places in the world, will be selected in close relation to historical, environmental and Hungarian themes of the real route of the visit.
Among Ungaretti’s lyrics, those of Il Porto Sepolto will be chosen mainly, with priority given to those that correspond between the location indicated by Ungaretti and the real area of the visit, not excluding, however, in a convergence on the thematic epicenter of the itinerary, possible poetic integrations of other lyrics by Ungaretti of the same or other collections.
After the central narrative-poetic-sensory stop in one of the important places of the Monte San Michele Open-Air Museum, in which the actor will read and guide sensory moments with an accompaniment of music and electronic effects, we will return to the starting point.
All this will take place by the light of the torches that will be specially provided to each participant.
