The first appointment of a new way of telling the symbolic places of the First World War: the format, which will be repeated during the summer on an itinerary that is different each time and in close connection with literary and poetic contents, includes a walk that will have some brief moments of poetic pause in significant points in which an actor will recite poems by Ungaretti and will guide the audience to a brief sensory moment.
A last stretch of the walk will lead to a place, in this case the Monumental area of Monte San Michele, for a central stage in which the actor will read, act and guide sensory moments with an accompaniment of specially composed music played live and electronic effects.
At the end, participants will return to the initial meeting point, always accompanied by the actor with a last immersive poetic stop.
This first appointment coincides with an important anniversary for the Municipality of Sagrado.
It is the dawn of June 29, 1916, in the trenches of San Michele the Italian soldiers are still sleeping.
Suddenly, the silence of the Karst is pierced by cries of desperation: two divisions of the Austro-Hungarian army have used asphyxiating gas.
There will be thousands of dead and intoxicated.
