The faces and sounds of emigration in Forgaria nel Friuli: a journey between memory and identity

The project will run from June 2024 to the end of February 2025, and will consist of the following initiatives:
1. “Dear friend, I am writing to you…” creation of a digital archive and a photographic exhibition with photographs, postcards, letters, telegrams, testimonies of stories of those who lived abroad and sent their thoughts to loved ones who remained in Italy; The exhibition will be visible from August to February;
2. “The Emigrant’s Ball” evening in the square with music from the 50s and 60s.
On that occasion, families of emigrants who want to return to Forgaria will be invited to participate.
The evening will take place on Saturday 3 August 2024;
