The Municipality of Corno di Rosazzo has joined the “2024 – Year of Italian Roots” project with the aim of raising awareness in the territories on the issue of Italian emigration and root travel.
The purpose of joining the project is to create a targeted and integrated tourist offer aimed at travelers of the roots, supporting the productive activities of the territory and encouraging forms of eco-sustainable and responsible tourism.

Event of 16 June 2024: The Piazza del Migrante
On Sunday 16 June 2024, from 2.00 p.m., Piazza Divisione Julia in Corno di Rosazzo was transformed for a day into “La Piazza del Migrante”.
A special occasion to celebrate and remember the contribution of Italian migrants and their history.

During the day, ten kiosks were active where you could taste the wines of the local wineries.
In addition, a rotisserie offered the delicacies of the grilled grill, with specialties such as Montasio cheese and the famous San Daniele ham.

The afternoon was enlivened by performances by local bands, choirs, folk groups and the most famous Friulian comedians, both dialectal and non-dialectal.
The square has been wrapped in a festive and folkloristic atmosphere, becoming the beating heart of the municipality of Corno di Rosazzo.

Welcoming Roots Travelers
The Municipality of Corno di Rosazzo has committed itself to warmly welcoming any travelers from the roots, offering the opportunity to meet the Mayor or other institutional figures.
In addition, the municipal staff and the Tourist Promotion Office were available to satisfy any request from Italians abroad.

This included the organization of workshops at the municipal spaces, the supply of the necessary material and assistance for genealogical, historical and socio-anthropological research of fellow villagers who migrated abroad.
With this initiative, the Municipality of Corno di Rosazzo aimed to allow the descendants of migrants to reconstruct their family history, deepening their knowledge of their origins and strengthening ties with Italian culture.
