Discover
This route not only preserves the memory of a tragic past, but also serves as a nature and botanical trail, revealing the extraordinary richness of the karst vegetation.
Visitors can discover some of the natural gems typical of the Karst, admiring a magnificent biodiversity characterized by a myriad of shades of colors, accompanied by birdsong and absolute silence.
Guided by an expert, participants will have the opportunity to explore and understand the karst phenomena and the complex geological history of the Karst.
It will be possible to learn more about various faunal, botanical and forestry aspects of the area, accompanied by signs bearing poems by Giuseppe Ungaretti.
When Ungaretti visited these places again in the 1960s, he was struck by the contrast between the reborn landscape and the devastated one he remembered from the First World War.
The route represents a journey to discover nature, an immersion in the various environments that you cross between trenches and vegetation.
This experience stimulates the senses, encouraging visitors to let themselves be guided by listening and presence.
Some stops in absolute silence allow you to fully appreciate the beauty and serenity of the karst landscape.
The “Ungaretti Path” aims to build a real ‘literary park’ in synergy with the Ungaretti Park and with the places of the battles of the First World War
